PHOTOS: New York Doll David Johansen Gets Café Carlyle Hot, Bothered as Buster Poindexter

Back at Café Caryle for a second fab run, David Johansen-cum-Buster Poindexter crooned threw a most curious selection of tunes, including Fats Waller's "You're a Viper," Jive Bomb's "Bad Boy" and, of course, Arrow's "Hot, Hot, Hot"--replete with his very own two-person congo line (i.e. DJ/BP and his wife).

Finishing up with an encore of "Heart of Gold" by Peter de Vries and the All Star Band, the evening's kitchen sink vibe--calypso, plenty of pompadour, even Cowboy from the Village People--was worth the trek uptown.
