Kim Gordon Slams Lana Del Rey in Upcoming Memoir 'Girl in a Band,' Says to 'Off Herself'

The forthcoming memoir from Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon is a little heavy-handed on some of her peers. After slamming everyone from Billy Corgan to Courtney Love, it's now been revealed that she also slights Lana Del Rey, saying "she doesn't even know what feminism is."

Citing an earlier interview where Del Rey said feminism is just "not an interesting concept," the former Youth member felt that the comment was off base. Saying that Lana is ill-informed is only the half of it, however.

She writes:

"Today we have someone like Lana Del Rey, who doesn't even know what feminism is, who believes women can do whatever they want, which, in her world, tilts toward self-destruction, whether it's sleeping with gross old men or getting gang raped by bikers. Equal pay and equal rights would be nice. Naturally, it's just a persona. If she really truly believes it's beautiful when young musicians go out on a hot flame of drugs and depression, why doesn't she just off herself?"

Del Rey fans weren't thrilled about the harsh words and expressed their anger via Twitter. Gordon, though, appeared to be taking it in stride as she was retweeting the haters.

Lana fans weren't the only ones to express their resentment for Gordon either. Frances Bean Cobain, too, criticized the Body/Head founder for romanticizing death.

Be on the look out for Girl in a Band from Gordon hitting bookshelves Feb. 24.

Until then, here's Gordon below.
