Neil Gaiman Award Winning Short Story to Receive Dark Horse Comics Graphic Novel Adaptation

In June 2016 Dark Horse comics will finally release a graphic novel adaptation of noted author, Neil Gaiman's short story, How to Talk to Girls at Parties originally published in his book of short stories "Fragile Things: Short Fiction and Wonders," the short sci-fi story How to Talk to Girls at Parties, became one of his most rewarded and celebrated stories. The story was nominated for a Hugo Award for best short story, in addition to winning the Locus award for best short story. Neil Gaiman is known for other famed literary works such as, American Gods, and Sandman

Set in the 1970s, the story is about British teenagers Enn and Vic, who go to a party to meet girls. Enn, is a shy boy whom the more confident Vic encourages to just to be himself when approaching girls. While at this party, Enn meets three very nice but odd girls. As he gets up the courage to finally "make a move," it is revealed that the girls at this party are not whom they appear to be.

Some of the industry's best artist Fabio Moon and his brother Gabriel Ba (Umbrella Academy,Casanova), will be working on the art for the graphic novel. Neil Gaiman is absolutely enamored with these artists as he stated in Publishers Weekly, "They have a storytelling aesthetic where [depicting] body language is everything. The story is all about what's in the narrator's' heads, so it can be very hard to do that in comics. It's incredibly enjoyable to write a story and see them make it real."

Dark Horse Comics is no stranger to working with heavy hitting material. They have acquired the rights to make comic book adaptations of many popular films and series. Some of these include familiar titles such as: Aliens, Army of Darkness (before Dynamite Entertainment acquired the license), Indiana Jones, Predator, RoboCop, The Thing, Star Wars, The Terminator, Planet of the Apes, Sin City, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
