“Robert Scanlon of Holyoke, MA is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state ‘Lucky for Life’ game after the numbers on his Quic Pic ticket correctly matched the first five numbers selected in the drawing that took place Monday, December 21.
“Scanlon wasted no time in claiming his prize, making the trip to the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Braintree headquarters on Tuesday, December 22 to do so. He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes). He plans on using a portion of his winnings to buy a new pickup truck.”
The website also reporters on another recent winner, writing:
A Warren, MI man says his grandmother in heaven helped him win $25,000 a year for life playing Lucky For Life. ‘Playing the Lottery is one of the things that my grandma and I always did together. Even up until the day she passed away about a year ago, I would tease her and tell her I was going to win big someday,’ said Matthew Stelman, 34.
“‘When a co-worker texted me to tell me someone from my neighborhood had won Lucky For Life, I knew it had to be me and I knew my grandma had helped make it happen.’ After receiving the text from his co-worker, Stelman went to his car to check his ticket.
