Once upon a time successfully blending elements of dance, circus, opera, theatre and high fashion could have been considered a fairytale in itself. Not any more. Company XIV is gearing up for the world premiere of adults only version of Snow White, which mixes the iconic Brothers Grimm tale with some of the greatest performing arts disciplines. Created, choreographed and directed by Drama Desk Award nominee Austin McCormick, the show starts its seven week limit run off-broadway at Minetta Lane Theatre on Feb 03 with previews starting on Jan 26.
Like a modern day George M Cohen, Austin McCormick, conceived of directed and choreographed Company XIV’s all new adult only version of Snow White. McCormick has BFA from the Juilliard School and is a graduate of The Conservatory of Baroque Dance.McCormick is also a graduate of the Harid Conservatory and North Carolina School of the Arts. McCormick founded Company XIV in 2006 and was nominated for a 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography for Rococo Rouge. McCormick also won the 2009 NY Innovative Theater Award for Best Choreography for The Judgment of Paris.
The amazing cast of Snow White includes: Hilly Bodin, Marisol Cabrera, Laura Careless, Courtney Giannone, Lea Helle, Nicholas Katen, Malik Kitchen, Mark Osmundsen, Davon Rainey and Marcy Richardson.
The design and production teams include: Zane Pihlstrom (Costume & Set Design), Jeanette Yew (Lighting Design) and Sarah Cimino (Makeup Design). Nataliya Vasilyeva (Production Stage Manager), Emma Greger (Company Manager), Audrey Nauman (Wardrobe Supervisor) and John Starmer (Technical Director).
