‘DWTS’ Julianne Hough Talks ‘Grease: Live’ Preparation

Trying to fill Olivia Newton-John's iconic shoes isn't going to be easy for Julianne Hough, but thankfully she has all her Dancing with the Stars experience to help get he through it. The reality TV beauty is set to play the lead role of Sandy in Fox's Grease: Live, which airs January 31. According to Hough, her vast experience as a dancer has left her uniquely prepared to blend the physical and spiritual for her first musical performance. Meanwhile, Bindi Irwin's little brother, Robert, claims that he and his mom, Terri, have been in talks to join Dancing with the Stars latest celebrity cast.

Julianne Hough is going to have to call on each and every one of her talents not to wind up embarrassing herself à la Allison Williams during her live television performance of the classic musical Grease later this month on Fox.

During a recent interview with Avon.com, Hough explained that she feels that her experience as a dancer -- more than anything -- has prepared her for taking on the role of Sandy (via EnStarz):

"It's a similar feeling when I'm dancing and choreographing, but I also enjoy the physical challenge.

"Dancing is one sport that is athletic and spiritually inspiring. I never feel more present in my life than when I'm on stage dancing."

As excited as Hough may be to prove herself on Grease: Live, 12-year-old Robert Irwin is even more so for his shot at joining the next season of Dancing with the Stars.

Despite his sister's winning last year, Robert reportedly told HNGN that he would relish the opportunity to possible join the show as an entertainment outsider:

"It would be a lot of fun...it would be pretty incredible.

"For us, this is completely different than anything we have ever done -- I mean we are certainly not used to all these sparkles and rhinestones and heels so it's a really different situation to jumping on crocs and catching snakes in the mud."

Be sure to tune Fox January 31, at 8 p.m. to see Julianne Hough as Sandy in Grease: Live.
