About The Wild Things' 'Friends With Benefits' EP

As for the new record, it includes the band's previous joint single with Townshend "Only Attraction," as well as their rendition of Mattel's "Red Side of the Moon" which they performed with the drag queen, and their cover of ABBA's "Does Your Mother Know."

Of his experience working with The Wild Things, Townshend said: "I love the Wild Things. Their songs are great [and] their performances [are] strong. [Their] dedication and work ethic is supreme but they always seem to be having fun. 'Only Attraction' is so damned good."

The new EP will also premiere The WIld Things' new song with Thayer called "Breaking Madonna," which they wrote and recorded with the KISS lead guitarist shortly after they met on the 2022 Kiss Kruise.

Giving the forthcoming record an "edge," the new hedonistic bop results from Thayer's admiration of the band, saying, "From the first minute I heard them play on the KISS Kruise, I knew they were the real deal."

"This new EP shows off the true magic of rock n roll and I can't wait to see where they're headed," he continued.

Similarly, Mattel echoes this fondness for the band's unique way of enthralling listeners. The musician said in a statement: "I love The Wild Things, and their impromptu cover of 'Red Side' really grabbed me."

"I always imagined it being sung by a woman, so I basically forced them to record it," she added. "So happy this song has a second life."

In line with their new release, The Wild Things has a lot in store for the fans. This includes new music and live dates. So, keep your eyes peeled for new updates over at their official website.
