The 2024 Olivier Awards winners were unveiled last Sunday night, April 14, at a momentous ceremony in the Royal Albert Hall, and West End mainstay Hannah Waddingham returns to the prestigious annual event as host for the second consecutive year.
One of the most notable nominees across the categories is the Broadway-bound revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Sunset Boulevard," headlined by the illustrious actress Nicole Scherzinger, as it took home a total of seven honors.

'Sunset Boulevard' Shows Out at the 2024 Olivier Awards
In a brief rundown, the immensely reimagined Jamie Lloyd-helmed production bagged the win for the categories of Best Musical Revival, Best Actor and Actress in a Musical, and Best Director.
This monumental win serves the play's eventual transfer to Broadway, which will hold previews starting on Sept. 28.
This leap across the pond was first announced last January and will see Scherzinger and co-star Tom Francis reprise their now Olivier-winning roles as Norma Desmond and Joe Gillis.
As for other categories, winners for Best New Play and Musical are "Dear England" and Operation Mincemeat," respectively. The solo "Vanya" play starring the ever-talented Andrew Scott, on the other hand, took home the honor of Best Revival in the play category.
In related news, "Dear England" is also part of a plan that will see it become a limited series broadcast under BBC. It is also planned for international distribution, although specific details are yet to be divulged.
First established in 1976 as the Society of West End Theatre Awards, the Laurence Olivier Awards has since become West End's most prestigious honor awarding ceremony. By 1984, it was then renamed in honor of the British actor Laurence Olivier.
The award ceremony is widely regarded as the counterpart to Broadway's Tony Awards and boasts an impressive line of past presenters, including Imelda Staunton, Clive Anderson, Gemma Arterton, Sheridan Smith, Lenny Henry, and Catherine Tate, among others.
