Update: Habibi Sings of Celestial Love in New Single ‘My Moon’ Off Upcoming Album ‘Dreamachine’

Following the release of indie rock band Habibi's punkish advance single, the group is now changing to a more romantic gear with the release of their intimate new offering: "My Moon," shared ahead of their forthcoming record: "Dreamachine" (out May 31 via Kill Rock Stars).

About 'My Moon' by Habibi

The song itself conjures the kind of personal connection that transcends time and space. Underscored by space-themed, floaty chime melodies and a steady dance beat, it evokes the quiet imagery of whispers shared under silvery moonlight.

"'My Moon' is a song for the hopeless romantics," explained band guitarist and vocalist Lenny Lynch. "It's about lost touch, lost connection, the ones who got away, whether by distance, time, or a fork in our paths. But just as the moon never fails us, neither does our memory.

"'My Moon' is a tender homage dedicated to the ones who may not be with us, but their memory is still felt and carried. It feels like it really sums up the love language of the entire album," she continued.

You can now stream the song by clicking here or by watching the official visualizer right below.

The new single fits quite at home in the rock group's inevitable album "Dreamachine," with its genre-blending exploration of post-punk, experimental pop, and vintage disco, all anchored down by Habibi's core inclination of Middle Eastern psychedelic soundscapes.

Other advance tracks on the record comprise the band's aforementioned rebellious anthem "Do You Want Me Now" and their hypnotic lead single "On The Road," both of which exemplify Habibi's musical flexibility and thematic sensibilities as they tackle romantic dichotomies.

In support of their new record, the band will hit the road this summer, stopping by Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more. Peep the full tour routing below.
