All the accolades and acknowledgment that Taylor Swift has been receiving due to her charitable giving, doesn’t impress 80’s teen star Debbie Gibson. Her advice to the celebrity giver, be more like twerker Miley Cyrus.
Gibson stopped by Bethenny Frankel to hash out her hollywood regrets and weigh in on her modern day equivalents. The 43-year-old forgotten teen idol said Swift reminds her of her former self. Her advice to the the 24-year-old according to Life & Style is to mix it up:
“I’m here to tell Taylor to break it down, be a bit more raw.”
That is pretty odd considering all the charitable work the star has been doing in recent years.
She donates time and money to everyone from Nashville City Library to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
On her recent 24th birthday, the starlet donated $100K to the Nashville Symphony, whose orchestra members have had to take a 15 percent decrease in pay just to keep their jobs.
The president of her local musicians’ union David Pomeroy wants behavior to be emulated not altered:
“Taylor Swift has set a great example, and I hope that others will follow her lead and help ensure that the Nashville Symphony musicians’ salaries can be restored as soon as possible.”
The Mayor of Nashville, Karl Dean, even sang the stars praises, upon her being named Tennessean of the Year:
"She’s one of the most dynamic and popular musical performers in the world, and she's perceived as having universal appeal across categories. She transcends genres, and that's a great thing for the city."
Everyone else seems to love Tay Tay, so go back under your rock Debbie Gibson.
