Things are coming together for 41-year-old Gabrielle Union to have an incredible year. She is starring in a new show on BET, Being Mary Jane, which premiered this week to excellent reviews. Plus, she and NBA Heat superstar Dwyane Wade just recently announced their engagement. Now friends as speculating that Gabrielle, who has publicly pined for children, may be pregnant at long last.
Union and the 31-year-old have been dating for years, so it really didn’t surprise friends, who knew the couple has already been planning a family. A source close to Union told MediaTakeOut that everyone knows the want children (via Hollywood Life):
“Gabby and her fiancé Dwyane have been open about having children, and now that a wedding is around the corner, now is as good a time as ever.”
If Gabrielle’s behavior at a recent social gathering was any indicator, that time might already be here. The usually avid social drinker sparked baby rumors by not having anything to drink at all. An eyewitness dished about the stars drinking to MediaTakeOut (via Hollywood Life):
“She was at a party, there was champagne everywhere, and she didn’t drink a drop.”
Gabrielle hasn’t made any announcements just yet, but that could be because she doesn’t want to jinx it. The actress admitted last November, in an interview with Essence, that she wasn’t sure if she could even have children (via IBTimes):
“I don't know if by now it’s a matter of 'want.’ My eggs are like the thing Indiana Jones finds in the Temple of Doom, so I don't know how many my body can physically have. I'd be happy with one if that's what God blesses me with."
One might be on the way.
