Everyone was happy for Nicole Richie, when the adopted daughter of Lionel Richie became pregnant, and seemingly put her eating disorder issues behind her. Now the clothing line designer’s diet has her weight so low, that friend and family are becoming concerned as rumors of anorexia abound.
Nicole Richie, former reality star, appeared to be getting all aspects of life in order, once she became pregnant, after seeking treatment for an eating disorder in 2007.
The clothing designer, who credits the birth of her child with saving her life, is facing fresh pressures as she prepares to revamp her clothing line, without the emotional support of her husband Joel Madden, who is in Australia recording their version of The Voice.
Though she has spent the past few years looking happy and healthy, she is beginning to look like her old sick self, a close friend told Star:
“These days, Nicole certainly looks like she did when she was starving herself and purging her food. She once told me that when she didn’t let her food digest she would turn gray. Right now, she looks far too thin and gray. I’m very concerned.”
Another friend told Star that it wasn’t just her appearance, but her behavior that gave her away these days:
“I was at nicole’s house last week and went to give her a hug, and she said, ‘Don’t do that; I’m going to bruise,’ She said that the last time she had an eating disorder, and it’s a telltale sign she is sick again.”
When you are too thin for love, you are too thin.
