Series original cast member Sandra Oh has made no secret that Season 10 will be her last with ABC's hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy. Show creator Shonda Rimes promised to take a moment from focusing solely on Scandal to make sure Oh's character Christina Yang get the exits she deserves. Spoilers: Sandra's would-be husband on the show Isaiah Washington is returning for what Rimes describes are a "vital" element to our saying "goodbye."
It's been a long, weird ride for Sandra Oh, but she is ready to draw her ten year Greys Anatomy run to a close at the end of this season.
Sandra hasn't given any word on just how her character will exit Seattle Grace, but she and on-screen love interest Kevin McKidd did tell Yahoo! that if it were up to them they'd ride off into the sunset together.
McKidd: "They're going to go off and do some bad ass thing in India or somewhere, create a new hospital...Cure malaria in Africa."
Oh: "In the fantasy of the television fantasy...Yeah! Let's go cure disease. But I'm a heart surgeon. We're going to go do surgery around the world."
Cast veteran Isiah Washington doesn't know about cure's for malaria, but he promised Today that his return for Christina would be nothing short of mind blowing:
"I read the script last night...The script is so amazing, it will blow you away.
"Shonda Rimes is genius...I'm unbelievably humble and over the moon with what I read last night."
"It's all positive. It's so amazing...It's just beyond!
"I had to stop and say, 'OK, now what? What is the world going to do after this?' It's going to blow you away!"
According to KpopStarz, Shonda Rimes stated that she is bringing back Washington's old character Preston Burke to serve the story--not just the rating:
"It's important to me that Cristina's journey unfolds exactly as it should. Burke is vital to that journey - he gives her story that full-circle moment we need to properly say goodbye to our beloved Cristina Yang."
Now...just how is she going to bring back Eric Dane?
