History Channel Vikings Season 2 is set to be twice the blood bath of the previous year. It looks like King Horik will possibly free Jarl Borg before his scheduled execution, sparking a vicious melee. Some even speculate that both Horik and Jarl Borg will feel the fatal sting of Ragnar's vengeance. Spoliers: Bjorn continues to struggle to get to object of his desire, slave girl Porunn, but her difficult past--she is a rape survivor--makes her reluctant to let down her guard.
Legendary raider Ragnar Lothbrok is looking to avenge his family against the pain and humiliation that back-stabber Jarl Borg subjected them to, when he raided their village, during Ragnar's absence, in the History Channel hit series Vikings.
Ragnar is looking to literally pull Borg's lungs out through his ribs, but King Horik still needs him to exact his revenge on the Britains.
According to IDigitalTimes, King Horik and Ragnar are set on a collision course over what to do with the treacherous Jarl Borg, now that he has been captured:
"Ragnar and King Horik clash over how to dispense justice to Jarl Borg.
"King Horik's biggest concern is that he is still able to take his revenge against King Ecbert in Wessex...[and] Horik is not at all pleased that Ragnar has chosen to take his revenge on Jarl Borg.
"If King Horik does end up betraying Ragnar and freeing Jarl Borg, we wouldn't be surprised if Ragnar did kill him. Ragnar doesn't forgive and doesn't forget wrongs that are done to him."
No matter what happens between Jarl Borg, King Horik and Ragnar, you can assume that things can't get any worse for new slave Porunn.
Gailia Weiss told BuffFocus that her character had the harshest of lives, before eventually winding up in Lothbrok's village:
"I think [creator, showrunner] Michael Hirst wanted to explore her experience and it's a different point of view.
"Even though she's only 20, but she's seen a lot, and she's probably already been raped at that young age.
"It's a complex and challenging role; I had a lot of questions about my character so it's nice to have Michael on set."
Whatever the writers ultimately decide to do with the main characters, let's hope they spare Porunn any more tragedy.
The poor girl has already been through a lot.
