Nearly three years after Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco and eccentric Brit Russell Brand made the animated Easter bunny classic Hop for Universal, the production company is being sued for the unauthorized use of artist Scott Westmoreland's work. Russell has been dating British socialite Jemima Khan for a little while now and has reportedly been credited with the 40-year-old's recent sexual awakening.
Though it has taken a while Greg Young Publishing, which represents artist Scott Westmoreland, has finally taken action against Comcast Corporation (Universal Pictures), Relativity Media LLC, Illumination Entertainment and Rhythm and Hues Studios, Inc. for allegedly using their clients copyrighted work, without his permission.
According to Radar Online the suit involves a couple of trailers for the movie Hop that reportedly included some of Westmoreland's unlicensed works:
"It is alleged that the defendants, who created, produced and distributed Hop, used 'unauthorized reproductions' of Westmoreland's 'original piece of artwork entitled 'Starting Lineup'... in the animated scenes of the movie.'
"'The defendants produced at least two trailers for Hop, that are still available for viewing on the internet,' in which unauthorized reproductions of Starting Lineup appear,' the papers said."
On a more positive note Russell's relationship with Jemima Khan is going over far better than his movie Hop ever did.
An insider told People that Brand's bedroom antics have shown Kahn apart of herself that she had never known:
"[Jemima is] having a sexual awakening...She's having a lot of fun and she's loving their relationship.
"They are really into each other."
Russell recently admitted on The Jonathan Ross Show that he was determined on making this love affair work, in a way he hadn't in past relationships (via People):
"I really love her.
"I'm going to be really kind in this relationship...I feel like it's grounded in friendship and a sort of love and it's all well cool and exciting and stuff, but it feels different for me."
So take that Katy Perry.
