This week saw more rumors that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are going to breakup. There appears to be new photo evidence of the alleged split, following Ryan's new movie bombing at Cannes.
"Poor, Ryan Gosling" is a phrase we haven't heard often, but it certainly seems appropriate this week. The heartthrob's directorial debut tanked at Cannes Film Festival and, to make matters worse, Eva Mendes was nowhere to support him, as People reports:
"While Ryan Gosling promotes his directorial debut, Lost River, at the Cannes Film Festival this week, one person has been conspicuously absent: his girlfriend of three years, Eva Mendes - who happens to costar in the film... Meanwhile, Mendes, 40, has been keeping a low-profile, and the pair haven't been photographed together since last November."
Unfortunately, this isn't the only report we've seen to suggest that Eva and Ryan may be calling it quits. A 2013 report in popular U.S. tabloid OK! claimed that the two were almost certainly broken up.
According to one source who spoke with the publication, it was Eva who decided to end things:
"Eva said the relationship just ran its course. There wasn't a lot to say. He was everything you're supposed to want in a guy--great on paper--but she felt like something was missing."
Then again, the insider also revealed that it may have something to do with Eva's alleged inability to commit:
"Maybe that's the commitment-phobe in her. Ryan wanted more, and then realized that just wasn't going to happen...The more he wanted to get more serious, the more she pulled back. So, to him, it just wasn't worth investing his heart into the relationship, and he stopped caring."
