Divergent Instagram juggernaut Shailene Woodley isn't dating co-star Theo James or her Fault of Our Star boyfriend Ansel Elgort, either for that matter. Theo has been attached to his college girlfriend Ruth Kearney for years. That doesn't mean there isn't an attraction between the franchise underpins, however; Theo and Shai playfully joked about James getting his armpit fetish jollies by constantly lifting her to-and-from the on-set safety nets. As much as they might like to try under different circumstance, Woodley doesn't have time for a house let alone a steady boyfriend. The offbeat Hollywood starlet mentioned in her interview on Jimmy Kimmel's late night show that she was homeless after giving her old L.A. house to her grandmother. The quirky nymph told Jimmy that she preferred to crash on friends' couches during the short stints that she was in town.
Theo James it seems is better off not dating his Divergent girlfriend Shailene Woodley.
This way he still gets to grope her and try to her feel her up during their on-set make-out sessions, and still go home and do the same to his real-life girlfriend Ruth Kearney.
Theo isn't ashamed to admit that when it was time to film the scenes where he and Shailene kiss, she literally had to fight off his additional unwanted sexual advances (via MTV News):
"I just went at it hard, to be honest, because I thought that's how she wanted it. I thought to assuage any awkwardness I would just go for it. She was kind of batting away my hands.
"We had Miles as Peter literally in the background as we were kissing. He was making hissing noises which actually added to the sexuality."
And that wasn't the only time James got handsy on during shooting--though Shai hardly seems to mind.
In an interview with E! the pair jokingly admitted that Theo couldn't keep his mitts out of her armpits during the scenes that Woodley constantly needed assistance safely getting out of the safety nets:
Shailene: "It was very romantic-- It was his excuse to grope my armpits...[Theo] had to lift me like 500 times...It just turns him on--weird."
Theo: "Yeah...I really love armpits."
With the stuff that Theo is able to get away with at work...he doesn't need to take Shai home.
But he still should...she needs one.
