Glyndebourne's 'Billy Budd' Setting Course, Captained by Sir Mark Elder, for Brooklyn Academy of Music
The 'H.M.S. Indomitable' will be sailing across the Atlantic early in 2014, as Glyndebourne's much-admired production of Benjamin Britten's 'Billy Budd' heads for the US. The staging, by Michael Grandage, will play at BAM from Feb. 7 through Feb. 13. Mannes Opera Presents Rossini's Lost Masterpiece 'Il Viaggio a Reims'
Mannes College at The New School for Music will present Rossini's opera 'Il Viaggio a Reims,' featuring The Mannes Opera with members of The Mannes Orchestra, for two performances only in New York on December 19. Performances will take place at Hunter College's Kaye Playhouse at 1:30 p.m. (semi-staged) and 7:30 p.m. (fully staged).
