'Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz’s 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' Cast Recording Debut Tops Billboard Charts
When you combine the music of Alan Menken with Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz you get a recipe for the perfect musical. Throw that in with a book by, frequent Sondheim collaborator, James Lapine and you have yourself one hell of a show. The name of that show is 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'. Based on Victor Hugo’s original novel with songs from the 1996 animated Disney classic, both of the same name, this highly anticipated musical sadly didn’t make it to the Broadway stage. However, we now have a way to enjoy this dream collaboration of musical theater talent. On Jan 22 Ghostlight records released the Studio Cast Recording of Hunchback of Notre Dame and the results speak for themselves. -
