Peter Pan is quite popular these days. Last year ABC’s Once Upon A Time, cast a dark shadow on the boy who refused to grow up, making him the major villain of the first half of Season 3. Captain Hook continues to be a major character on the series. Disney also features two Neverland based animated series for children, Jake and The Neverland Pirates and Tinker Bell’s Disney Pixies. Next week NBC will air its Peter Pan Live musical event, starring Girls Allison Williams and Christopher Walken. Now a new trailer for Warner Brother’s upcoming origin story Pan, starring Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund has been released. Check out the video below to see what the new Neverland looks like.
The new film stars Hugh Jackman as Black Beard, Garrett Hedlund, as Captain James Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lilly, Amanda Seyfried as Mary and Levi Miller as Peter Pan.
The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on July 17, 2015.
The trailer suggest a darker tone than we are used to. However, if you are looking for some happier thoughts to send you flying, than be sure to check out NBC’s Peter Pan Live musical, airing on December 4.
Tomorrow night NBC will be airing a special behind the scene preview of the live musical event.
