UFC Light Heavy Weight Champion Jon Jones Backs Bill Cosby In Rape Scandal, Worried About Fighting Alexander Gustafsson Again

Jon "The Bones" Jones is the current light heavyweight champion in the insanely popular Ultimate Fighting Championship. When he won the title back in 2011, he became the youngest champion ever, at the age of 24. Jones has now defended his title seven times, a new record. So, anyone can see that Jon Jones is perfectly capable of making good decisions in the ring. However, there might be a different story when it comes to his capability to soundly reason outside of the ring. Earlier this year, Jones might have put his foot in his mouth when he hinted that Alexander Gustafsson, the man who gave the champ the toughest fight of his career, isn't deserving of another shot at the belt. Also, he recently made a few tactless comments supporting Bill Cosby's side in the ongoing rape scandal.

Anyone who watched the fight knows Alexander Gustafsson easily gave Jones the toughest fight of his career. MMA Mania reports that after Gustafsson's victory over Jimi Manuwa, Jones seemed worried:

"Why not give the winner of Alexander and [Daniel Cormier] the winner of myself and Glover?? Call me what you want but I can't be the only person who thinks that makes perfect sense. I see DC congratulating Alexander and making comments about waiting his turn now. I wonder if they're afraid to fight each other? People who don't like to think are quick to call me afraid. Think about it, I'm asking for the meanest of the two."

Also, TMZ reports on what could be seen as harmful to the champ's career:

"Jones was at LAX Friday when he explained why he was on Team Bill - 'I've never met him, but from what I've seen he seems to be a class act. I kinda grew up admiring him.' In fact, Jones also joked that Cosby was such a huge star, he wouldn't need to rape women -- he could have anybody he wants.

Still, Jones adds ... 'I hope [the allegations are] not true."
