Season 8 of ABC’s hit crime drama Castle is just around the corner. This year, things will be different for Castle (Firefly’s Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic), including new jobs and another woman, Hayley Shipton (Toks Olagundoye). The official plot synopsis for part 1 of the all new Season 8 premiere episode of Castle, titled “XY,” reads:
“In Part 1 of the two-part eighth-season opener, Castle searches for a missing Beckett following a call from a mysterious stranger.”

Castle co-showrunner and executive producer Alexi Hawley, previously spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the all character appearing on the series, Hayley Shipton, played by Toks Olagundoye:
“[Toks] plays a really dynamic, fun character. It’s a voice that the show doesn’t have. What’s great about her is Castle [Nathan Fillion] has been investigating cases police-adjacent, so it’s always about doing things the way police would. She doesn’t do things that way, so that fun dynamic of, ‘No, we break in rather than get a warrant,’ is kind of fun.”
