Ben Carson is a very popular name as a Republican presidential candidate and there are five reasons that support why he would be a great pick as the nominee for the party.
1. He Is a Fresh Face to a Political World
Coming from a background of being a brain surgeon, Carson is a fresh breath of air for those that are sick of the politician personality. He has never run for a public office and does not come with the arrogance and manipulative attitude that most politicians have. Carson is exactly the type of presidential candidate that could completely change the perception of what the president needs to be.
2. His Flat Tax Plan Makes a Lot of Sense and Could Work Perfectly
Carson's tax plan is a flat 10 percent based on the biblical commands on tithing. If that were to be put into place, anyone that makes $100 would be taxed $10 and so on. That makes a lot of sense and would make the tax situation much less complicated.
3. Carson is Very Strongly Against Obamacare
Barack Obama has become hated by many for forcing Obamacare upon the American people. Carson is very much against it and would do everything he could to repeal it immediately after getting into office. He has a unique standpoint as a surgeon to have seen both sides of things and knows more about the health insurance situation.
4. He Is Not Scared to Speak His Mind
Throughout the course of the debates thus far, Carson has been very honest and has not been scared to speak his mind. He has countless times come out in the media and talked about controversial issues without wavering from his own morals. That is the type of strong president that the United States needs and is yet another reason why Carson makes sense to be the nominee.
5. He Has Made the American Dream a Reality for Himself
When Carson was younger, his family depended on food stamps and he was extremely poor. He used his personal work ethic and dreams to help him become a brain surgeon and is incredibly well off. The American dream has been disappearing over the past 10 years, but Carson is living proof that it can happen and he can motivate others around him to keep their dreams alive.
