‘Allegiance’ George Takei Offers Double Date in NYC Omaze Inspire Change Broadway Campaign
It is hard not to love George Takei. The former Celebrity Apprentice contestant, Howard Stern Show announcer and oh yeah, Star Trek Sulu actor is one of the most charming celebrates around. Takei and his family spent time in a Japanese American internment during World War II, which inspired the hit Broadway musical Allegiance, which he also stars in. Now, Takei is giving you the chance to get up close and personal with him as you take dinner and show with him, his husband and a guest of choice. Takei has started an Omaze campaign to help support Inspire Change Broadway.
Each donation level not only offers a different prize but raffle entries for the big prize, a trip to NYC to meet George Takei and a showing of Allegiance.
The official Omaze website reporters on the big prize, a double date with George Takei and his husband Brad Altman Takei in New York City:
“Oh myyy. This trip for two to New York City is a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a one-of-a-kind guy. Do you love George Takei for his iconic role as Sulu in Star Trek? Or is he simply your social media hero because he’s so ridiculously funny and sharable? Either way, no one can deny his humor, wit and passion for justice and equality. Now, George is offering you and a friend premium tickets to his Broadway show Allegiance, access to meet the cast and come inside the stage door, all the selfies your phone can hold, AND a private car to dinner with him and his husband at their favorite restaurant. If you’ve ever wanted to be best friends with George Takei, this is step one.”
The website is also reporting on the amazing group that donations go to, Inspire Change Broadway, highlighting the organization:
“Initially launched in 2009 with the Broadway musical Memphis, Inspire Change is an innovative arts program that partners with commercial theater productions to provide schools and communities across the tri-state area with subsidized tickets and high-impact educational experiences. Inspire Change’s programming is developed in tandem with productions, drawing on and contributing to their research and artistry, in order to create the most effective tools to educate communities, foster dialogue, and inspire change.”
