Tony Winner Neil Patrick Harris Working on New Theatrical Magic Show

Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) is returning to TV but that doesn’t mean his theater days are behind him. NPH is reportedly working behind the scenes on an all new theatrical magic show. According to Playbill Harris will be working with Randy Weiner (Sleep No More, The Donkey Show) to create a magical new theatrical experience.

The new and currently unnamed collaboration is reportedly going to take place at 311 West 57th Street.

Fans of Neil Patrick Harris will soon be able to see him in the all new Netflix show of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Harris confirmed his casting via his Twitter page, writing:

“I'm excitedish to portray Count Olaf - its spending all day with those three horrible child actors that will be a challenge.”

Despite his varitey series, Best Time Ever, being canceled, NBC still has high hope for NPH. NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt recently spoke to Adweek.com about Neil Patrick Harris' future with the network:

“The live thing shouldn't be the tail that wags the dog. If that's the best way to do it, then it should be live. Best Time Ever did relatively well, but we just decided that the format wasn't the best format as it developed. I love Neil and he was such a trouper. We could have done that show not live, and probably put together a better show that was cleaner and crisper, but he really wanted to do the high-wire act of live. And we thought, OK, that's how they do it in the U.K.”
