Oscar nominations have hit and to no one's surprise 'The Revenant' could be this year's top earner with 12 nominations in its corner. However the list also includes, more importantly, Ennio Morricone's score for 'The Hateful Eight,' John Williams' score for 'Star Wars' and Thomas Newman's score for 'Bridge of Spies' all contending for Best Original Score; and David Lang's "Simple Song #3" competing in the Best Original Song category.
There are plenty on nuances in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" that are telling of characters and their back stories. Perhaps none more telling is John Williams' underlying score that provides a unique insight into each persona through theme music.
In this round of promotion for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, its been revealed that Gustavo Dudamel, music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted the famous opening and ending titles to the film. The music was composed by none other than John Williams and has been featured in each movie.
