After this year's Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks are one of the most talked about teams in sport's history. For many, it was sad to see the possibility of two consecutive championships slip away. On the other hand, their star cornerback, Richard Sherman, got over the loss fairly quickly with some wonderful and life-changing news. Richard's girlfriend just gave birth to a baby boy. And, if that wasn't exciting enough, Sherman's teammate and brother in arms, Russell Wilson, has agreed to babysit the brute to be.
Before his time as a professional, Sherman played wide receiver and corner for Stanford University. During that time, he caught 47 passes in his beginning years as a receiver, but was forced to switch to cornerback after an injury.
He was still able to pull off some impressive stats though. For instance, he helped lead his team to a 12-1 school record in 2010.
His consistent performance earned him a 5th round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2011 NFL Draft. Since then, he has been a force to be reckoned with. He leads the league in most interceptions and deflected passes.
Needless to say, he has been a key factor in Seahawk's success in recent years, and now it appears that Sherman has another entity that will be depending on him.
According to Celebrity Café, his morale was boosted after the birth of his first child:
"If Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was hoping to forget about his team's Super Bowl XLIX loss quickly, he found a way. He and his girlfriend, Ashley Moss, welcomed their first child today. Sherman announced the happy news on Twitter, writing that their son 'sure does know how to make an entrance,' adding, '2/5/15... Is it a coincidence or is he just that clever?! Either way I'm ecstatic...haven't felt anything better than this! Thank you God such a blessing!'"
If athletic ability runs in the family, then the boy probably has a career in sports ahead of him. If that wasn't lucky enough, a report by TMZ Sports, suggest that his babysitter might be Russell Wilson:
"Finally, some good news for Richard Sherman...his girlfriend just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy...and Russell Wilson has already offered to watch the kid. Russell tweeted at Sherman...'so happy for you bud!!! You are going to be an amazing dad! Love you bro! Let me [know] if u need me to babysit!' If Russell's unavailable, he could always hand the kid off to Marshawn Lynch...for a change."
