The New York Knicks are officially the worst team in the NBA. In turn, one Knicks' fan lashed out against the team and the poor management of James L. Dolan. Dolan did not respond well to the situation. Now, Dolan is being criticized from people all across the board. Even Knicks legend Charles Oakley spoke out against Dolan. Apparently, Oakley said Dolan is something of a drama queen.
After the founding of the New York Knickerbockers, a.k.a the Knicks, the team performed well early on. Starting in 1950, they made it to three consecutive NBA Finals.
They did so under the capable thumb of coach Joe Lapchick. They are known for their rivalries with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets. All in all, the team has a fairly large following, however, they have only won two championships.
This year they are performing at their absolute worst, and according to The Destiny Log, one fan was not afraid to show his disappointment:
"How could you not be angry when your basketball team is a pathetic 10-41? There is still some talent on this team. Dolan is in the news for more than just a crummy team though. Recently a lifelong Knicks fan sent the hotshot millionaire owner an email lambasting the team...He told Dolan that the team is garbage, which is in his absolute right as someone who probably shells out hundreds of dollars to attend games."
Dolan then let his anger get the best of him, and a reputation-tarnishing scandal ensued. According to TMZ Sports, Charles Oakley thinks drama should be Dolan's middle name:
"Nicks owner James Dolan has something in common with Mariah Carey...he's a huge DIVA.. so says Knicks legend Charles Oakley who says Dolan completely bungled an email situation with a fan...Oakley -- who spent 10 years ballin' in Madison Square Garden -- tells TMZ Sports Dolan had some nerve ripping into a lifelong Knicks fan who had written a letter bitching about the team. [Allegedly] Dolan called the fan a 'sad person' and a 'hateful mess.'
