It is awards season in Bollywoodland, and as should be expected, Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan are cleaning up. As you will note, Deepika's Piku, as well as Deepika herself, were both highly honored. As expected, Salman Khan was well represented in the winner's list. His film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo led all entries with four wins. It is the topper for Khan in a year that has seen both its ups and downs. With his recent acquittal, Khan is riding high right now.
As for Deepika, she has a hit movie and is about to see the release of Bajirao Mastani. Her film Piku took away three awards. From The New Indian Express,Shoojit Sircar's Piku, a slice-of-life film, got three awards for different categories at the ceremony. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who plays a quintessentially Bengali man in the film, was honoured with the BIG Star Most Entertaining Actor in a Drama Role (Male). Deepika Padukone, who essays the role of his selfless daughter, won the BIG Star Most Entertaining Actor in a Drama Role (Female). "Piku" won the BIG Star Most Entertaining Drama film."
