5 Most Disappointing Players for the Arizona Cardinals in 2015 NFL Season

The Arizona Cardinals just completed their 2015 NFL season with a loss to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship game. Who were the five most disappointing players throughout the season?

1. Andre Ellington, Running Back

Heading into the 2015 season, the Cardinals were hoping that Andre Ellington could get his career back on track. He dealt with injuries a lot last season and simply wasn't able to live up to the hype. That didn't end up happening, however, and he is without question worth of the No. 1 spot on this list with the season that he put together and the injury problems that he had once again.

2. Jermaine Gresham, Tight End

One of the offseason acquisitions for the Cardinals was veteran tight end Jermaine Gresham and he was expected to be a contributor to their offense. He ended up catching 18 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown. Arizona's offense should have fit him much better than it did and he will likely be on his way this offseason.

3. Cory Redding, Defensive End

After being signed in NFL free agency ahead of the 2015 season, Cory Redding didn't live up to the hopes that the Cardinals had for him. He ended up playing in 12 games and recorded just five tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception. Redding was expected to have an even bigger impact and while he didn't have a bad year he still belongs on this list.

4. LaMarr Woodley, Linebacker

There weren't very high expectations for LaMarr Woodley heading into the season, but he didn't even come up to those low expectations. He had 10 tackles and a sack on the season and wasn't a factor. Arizona had a loaded defense, but that is no excuse for the poor season that Woodley put together.

5. J.J. Nelson, Wide Receiver

Rookie wide receiver J.J. Nelson is forced onto this list simply because of the low numbers he put up. As a rookie it's hard to criticize him, but he still has to be put on this list. Nelson ended up catching just 11 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season, but there is plenty of room for him to grow and potential for him to unlock.
