Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Live Theme Park Theater Experience At The Hyperion Coming “In Summer”

If you are a parent who finally thought your child was ready let, “Let it Go,” go, think again. Disney is building on the hype of the hit film with an all new sequel film, a Broadway show and now a theme park theater experience. Frozen - Live at the Hyperion is getting ready to debut this May in California. So go ahead and save up those caps and enjoy the silence while you can, but Winter is coming this Summer.

The marquee above the Hyperion promotes the new Frozen experience reading:

“When is Frozen coming? In Summer.”

Playbill is reporting on press notes released for the all new immersive theme park theater experience:

“Audiences will be immersed in the emotional journey of Anna and Elsa with all of the excitement of live theater, in an entertaining musical adaptation that includes elaborate costumes and sets, stunning special effects, show-stopping production numbers and unique theatrical surprises.”

Walt Disney Imagineering creative entertainment executive Dana Harrel released a statement about the production, telling reporters (via Playbill):

“While our production of Frozen will stay true to the heart and soul of the film, we have adapted it for the stage so it’s truly a musical theatre production that befits our beautiful Hyperion Theater. The goal of this creative team is to take all audiences -- including those that know the film, and those new to these characters -- on this exciting and touching adventure with Anna and Elsa.”

Frozen - Live at the Hyperion is scheduled to open on May 27.
