Idina Menzel’s latest movie venture Frozen is a runaway hit, but her marriage to Taye Diggs in a runaway train. The couple recently announced they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage. While Menzel has been celebrating her box office success, estranged husband Diggs has been celebrating his freedom by cheating with multiple women at once.
It is no wonder that Idina Menzel’s new animated film, along with its soundtrack, have garnered critical and commercial acclaim.
After all, she has been known for her work in everything from the hit musical Rent, where she originally met Taye Diggs, to the television spin-off Hercules: The Animated Series, where she did not get to meet an original Hercules.
Unfortunately, as her career is getting a shot in the arm, her marriage is getting a kick in the ass.
The 42-year-old actress' marriage to Diggs had been facing scrutiny for some time, as rumors of his cheating continued to surface.
Menzel put up a stoic front, when she tried to downplay their marital issues to People:
"We work at it, I'm not going to glamorize it or glorify it--we go through tough times like everybody else, but we love each other very much. We try not to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and we try to find new ways to communicate."
Seems like the conversations must have been a little one-sided, being that the couple announced the split weeks later.
A few weeks into the separation, it appears that things have already reached the point of being irreconcilable, as Diggs makes no attempts to hide his philandering.
He has even been seen leaving nightclubs, sometimes with more than one woman according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry:
“The smokin’ hot actor was recently photographed leaving a club with not one, but three white women.”
Wow...talk about an emotional roller coaster.
