Mitsuko Uchida to Perform with CSO Chamber Ensemble

This Sunday, February 28, at 3:00 p.m. Chicago's Symphony Center Presents PowerShares QQQ Chamber Music series continues with renowned pianist Mitsuko Uchida making her only Symphony Center appearance this season in a chamber music program of works by Schumann and Mozart. Joining Uchida for this performance are Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) principals Stephen Williamson (clarinet), Keith Buncke (bassoon), and John Sharp (cello), associate principal Daniel Gingrich (horn) and guest musician Nathan Hughes -- Principal Oboe of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

    Civic Orchestra of Chicago's Principal Conductor for the last 20-years, Cliff Colnot, who concludes his tenure with the Orchestra at the end of the 2015/16 season, marks his final podium appearance with the Civic in concert this Monday, February 29, at 8 p.m. The farewell concert will feature Shostakovich's Symphony No. 9 and EOS (Goddess of a Dawn), a 2014 work by Chicago Symphony Orchestra's former Mead Composer-in-Residence Augusta Read Thomas.
