‘White Rabbit Red Rabbit’ Coming To NYC: No Director Show Feat Nathan Lane & Alan Cumming

If you have ever been involved with theater before, odds are there have been moments where just want to get rid of the director. And who can really be bothered with all those pesky rehearsals. And sets can be great but at the end of the day, who really needs them? 'White Rabbit Red Rabbit' gets rid off that hassle that normally comes with a production. The avant garde play by Nassim Soleimanpour just throws actors up on stage with a script and let's them at it. The experimental show is now heading to NYC for a run of Monday only shows. Working without a set, rehearsals or a director on the one night a week that most performers are free means we will get to see some pretty names including Nathan Lane, David Hyde Pierce, Whoopi Goldberg, Alan Cumming and more.

    When you combine the music of Alan Menken with Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz you get a recipe for the perfect musical. Throw that in with a book by, frequent Sondheim collaborator, James Lapine and you have yourself one hell of a show. The name of that show is 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'. Based on Victor Hugo’s original novel with songs from the 1996 animated Disney classic, both of the same name, this highly anticipated musical sadly didn’t make it to the Broadway stage. However, we now have a way to enjoy this dream collaboration of musical theater talent. On Jan 22 Ghostlight records released the Studio Cast Recording of Hunchback of Notre Dame and the results speak for themselves.
