Reports are that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have called it quits. While reasons are not entirely clear at this moment, there are some things we know. They began in the most difficult of situations. They met while Ranbir was seeing Deepika Padukone. The subsequent press coverage was withering and Deepika added to it by calling Ranbir a cheater on a talk show.
Tamasha saw Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone reunite for the first time in a while and the connection looked strong. The chemistry didn't disappate despite the rancor during the break up. However, BollywoodLife is saying that Deepika is not responsible for the break up, "Deepika Padukone had nothing to do with this! Reports suggesting that her proximity to RK during the Tamasha promotions was responsible for the break up are incorrect. DP is committed to making her relationship with Ranveer work."
Life is complicated and sometimes the obvious answer is not the right one. Sometimes, it is a lot of little obvious ones, like Ranbir's mom was never very found of Katrina. She famously cut Katrina out of a holiday photo. Ranbir's dad, Rishi, wasn't sold on Katrina either. DNA India lends some perspective, "A newspaper reported that she has started calling me, 'Papa.' Rubbish, she wouldn't dare to take such liberties with me. Why am I always being dragged into his (Ranbir's) private life? I'm not the sort to duck questions. As far as I'm concerned, Katrina has been very well behaved. I worked with her in Namastey London."
So, for now, we will just have to wait until more is revealed. Anything else, whether the split is permanent, is just speculation at the moment. Stay tuned.
