Luke Rockhold is not the most popular fighter in the UFC, even though his record and rank are pretty good. However, he has made a name for himself after his appearance on Millionaire Matchmaker, and his outspoken criticisms of his fellow fighters. In recent news, Rockhold claims that he was inaccurately profiled on the Bravo hit show. Also, Rockhold has voiced concerns of his upcoming fight with Machida.
Before his time as a professional, Rockhold got his training with the American Kickboxing Academy. He got his first fight with Mark Matinez in July of 2007.
Rockhold is ranked 5th in the UFC middleweight division. He has had some impressive wins over some of MMA's biggest names. Now, he is set to face the dragon, Lyoto Machida.
According to MMA Fighting, Rockhold hasn't been shy with his opinions on the bout:
"Having already found himself on the business end of Vitor Belfort's spinning head kick, you can hardly blame UFC middleweight contender Luke Rockhold for scrutinizing his future opponents. Rockhold has been one of the UFC's most outspoken proponents for stepping up its initiative to crack down on performance enhancing drugs, something the promotion took major steps into implementing Wednesday. Due to face Lyoto Machida on Apr. 18, Rockhold cited concerns over the culture at his opponent's training camp."
Rockhold is known for his big mouth, and his appearance on Millionaire Matchmaker didn't help his image much. Based on a report by TMZ Sports, Luke feels that he profiled incorrectly, and, in turn, he claims that he hooked up with of Patti Stranger's co-stars:
"UFC star Luke Rockholdsays he got DONE DIRTY on "The Millionaire Matchmaker" -- and was made to look like a scumbag on the show ... but claims it was worth it 'cause he hooked up with one of Patti Stanger's smokin' hot co-stars. Of course, Rockhold's appearance on the show earlier this year was super controversial -- after he asked one of his potential matches if she 'spits or swallows.'"
