Maurice White, 74, Singer and Founder of Earth Wind and Fire, Dies from Parkinson's in L.A.

Founder of the iconic soul group Earth, Wind and Fire. Maurice White, died in his sleep Thursday morning. Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1992, the vocalist was discovered in Los Angeles.

  • Saxophonist Pharoah Sanders to Perform John Coltrane Tribute at PDX Festival This Year

    Saxophonist Pharoah Sanders has been added to the PDX Jazz Festival program, an annual gala held in Portland. Sanders will use his time to help pay tribute to Mr. John Coltrane at the festival, which will be held from Feb. 18-28 in the booming Oregon city.
