PHOTOS: New York Doll David Johansen Gets Café Carlyle Hot, Bothered as Buster Poindexter

Back at Café Caryle for a second fab run, David Johansen-cum-Buster Poindexter crooned threw a most curious selection of tunes, including Fats Waller's "You're a Viper," Jive Bomb's "Bad Boy" and, of course, Arrow's "Hot Hot Hot"--replete with his very own two-person congo line (i.e. himself and his wife). Finishing up with an encore of "Heart of Gold" by Peter de Vries and the All Star Band, the evening's kitchen sink vibe--calypso, plenty of pompadour, even Cowboy from the Village People--was worth the trek uptown.
